Is it really a drop-in replacement for SerpApi?
For Google web search and Google Maps, yes. Responses use SerpApi's block names and field names, and SerpApi's parameters (q, location, gl, hl, start, engine) work as-is on /search.json. Switching is usually a change of host and key.
What does it cost?
250 searches a month free, with just an email address. The Pro plan is $15 a month for 5,000 searches, then $0.003 a search, which works out to $3.00 per thousand against SerpApi's $15.00.
Which result blocks are supported?
Organic results, ads, local results, knowledge graph, AI Overviews, answer boxes, People Also Ask, top stories, videos, jobs, events, recipes, sports and more. A block Google did not show is left out of the response rather than returned empty, the same way SerpApi does it.
Are the results live or cached?
Live. Every search is fetched from Google at request time over residential connections in the country you ask for. Most searches answer in 1 to 5 seconds; a cold one can take up to about 70.
What is not supported yet?
Engines other than Google web search and Google Maps, and chart data such as hourly weather and price history. location is best effort, and the response says where the search actually ran.
